Five Things You Need to Know this Week: Oct. 10-14
See the hot rides from the annual car show, learn about a few hot jobs in the Southland and hot to apply, then see a cute canine costume ball. Here are a few things going on around the Village this week.
1. Check Out a Few Hot Rides
Welcome back from the weekend folks! If you didn't have a chance to see any of the classic cars on Kedzie Avenue Friday afternoon, check out our PHOTO GALLERY: Evergreen Park's Hot Rod and Classic Cars Show.
2. Looking for Work?
Patch visited Congressman Daniel Lipinski's job fair last week in Bridgeview, and found out about a few hot jobs in the area and how to apply for them.
3. Farmer's Market
If you haven't yet made it out to the Evergreen Park Farmer's Market, take some time and visit and support the local economy. The market is in the Yukich Field parking lot at 89th and Kedzie every Thursday, 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. through Oct. 27.
4. Cute Pooches Take Over The Well
Meet at the Well for the First Annual Canine Costume Ball on Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. Come to Jacob's Well Church Community, 3450 W Maple St, for a fun afternoon of Canine musical chairs, vendors, pet products swap table, other games and other activities. Visitors without dogs are welcome and there will be a free goodie bag for the first 25 dogs registered. ALL dogs must be leashed and current with vaccinations. For more information, call 708-636-5653.
5. Get Fit!
Still hoping to get fit before the end of the year? Coach Luch is still holding Adult Boot Camp Wednesday at Yukich Field.
