Evergreen Park Editor Departs to Chase a Dream
Your editor Renita Young has had an exciting run with Evergreen Park Patch. Please wish her well as she chases a dream.
Evergreen Parkers, it has truly been an honor to serve as your founding editor of Evergreen Park Patch for the last one year and nine months.
Goodbyes are not that easy for me. Not too long ago, I welcomed you to your new source for news and information about your town, then before I knew it, we were celebrating our one year Patchaversary. This website has been my baby, and it's difficult to release it to someone else.
I couldn't thank you enough for such an outstanding experience that matured me into a better journalist, woman and human being in today's rapidly changing world.
During my time here, I've had the chance to meet some truly fascinating people. Many of you have been kind enough to welcome me into your homes, into your lives and into your inboxes every day. Your trust in me to provide reliable news for Evergreen Park gave me a phenomenal foundation of confidence, technique and faith that I could accomplish anything.
So with that beautiful gift, I proudly march into the next phase of my career. I've had a passion for international reporting ever since my first trip abroad and I now have the opportunity to jump in head-first, starting with reporting on the Olympic Games in London, a huge dream come true.
But as they say in the biz, the show must go on. Evergreen Park Patch will be in the capable, reliable hands of Oak Lawn Patch editor Lorraine Swanson and Palos Patch editor Dan Lambert.
I welcome you to follow my travels at my personal blog and follow me on Twitter.
Thank you again, Evergreen Park, and please stay in touch. Feel free to email me anytime at renita@renitadyoung.com.

Renita, I honestly hate to see you go. I look forward to thy daily updates from you. Personally, I think Evergreen Park needs their own Patch Editor, but nobody asked me. Best of luck in your new endeavors. You will truly be missed.

Good luck on your new adventure Renita. I would like to echo EP Mom's sentiments. Will an Oak Lawn & Palos editor have any interest in Evergreen Park news & happenings?

Renita,
Your Patch colleagues are going to miss you dearly but we're happy that you're chasing your dreams. You've been an absolute pleasure to work with and a loyal, helpful colleague. As for your readers, Dan and I will do our very best to fill your shoes. To the reader who asked if the Oak Lawn and Palos editors would care about Evergreen Park issues that answer is a resounding YES. Both Dan and I look forward to exploring EP and getting to know you.
