WHAT: Walmart is hiring approximately 85 additional associates to work at the expanded Bedford Park Walmart slated to celebrate its grand opening this fall. The retailer has set up hiring kiosks inside the store, located at 7050 S. Cicero Ave.
The hiring kiosks are currently available and will continue accepting applications during store hours from 6 a.m. – midnight, seven days a week. Interested applicants can also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.
According to store manager Miguel Rodriguez, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. “We are thrilled to expand this Walmart in Bedford Park and bring good jobs with career opportunities to the area,” he said. Rodriguez began his Walmart career in 1993 as an hourly sales associate in the electronics department at the Northlake Walmart.
Rodriguez said associates are needed to work in all areas of the new store.
Walmart’s benefit program is available to eligible full- and part-time associates and provides a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including health care coverage with no lifetime maximum.
Walmart also offers eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive bonus based on store performance.
The majority of associates will begin work immediately to help prepare the store for its grand opening this fall.
